David [00:00:01]:
Today we’re talking about our God, the Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit, that he is omnipotent. God embodies absolute power, limitless potential, and infinite possibilities. Everything was created by our God, and everything exists because of our God. Our God is a supreme, limitless, and infinite being.
David [00:00:56]:
He is the ultimate source of all power, all potential, and all possibilities. Today I want to explore and understand the omnipotence of God, his absolute, limitless potential, absolute power, and infinite possibilities. There are three aspects of this that I want to talk about today. And so the first aspect of omnipotence is he is the God of all power. God possesses omnipotence. And we’ve heard this if you’ve been around church, been in church for a long time, like I have growing up in church, I’ve heard this all my life, that God possesses all power. This is a part of who he is. Not only does he have unlimited power and control over everything, he is unlimited power.
David [00:02:04]:
Revelation, chapter 19, verse six, says this, and I heard, as it were, the voice of a great multitude, as the sound of many waters and as the sound of many thunderings, saying, alleluia. For the Lord God, omnipotent reigns. The Lord God omnipotent reigns. The word omnipotent there in the Greek is also translated almighty. So when you see almighty or almighty goddess, it’s saying the omnipotent one, the omnipotent God. There are four expressions used to define this quality of God, this characteristic of our father God. And here they are. Number one.
David [00:02:56]:
The first definition, he holds sway over all things. To be omnipotent, to be almighty, means that he holds sway over all things. Ephesians 119 23 tells us, and what is the exceeding greatness of his power toward us, who believe according to the working of his mighty power, which he worked in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly places, far above all principality, all power and might and dominion, and every name that is named not only in this age, but also in that which is to come. And he put all things under his feet and gave him to be head over all things to the church, which is his body, the fullness of him who fills all in all. There is nothing more powerful than God, as we see here in Ephesians, the first chapter, all things are under his feet. He is the ultimate power. Don’t let the enemy try to tell you any different. There is nothing more powerful than your father God and the Lord Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit.
David [00:04:23]:
The second definition here of omnipotence, almighty is the ruler of all, the ruler of all. First Timothy 615. And this is from the new living translation says this, for at just the right time Christ will be revealed from heaven by the blessed and only almighty God, the king of kings and the Lord of all lords. So what Paul is telling us here in first Timothy is he has authority over all authority. You may be a king here in the earth. You may be a Lord, you may have a position, you may have authority. But our father God, Jesus Christ, our savior, the Lord, the Holy Spirit, our helper, has authority over all authority. He is the Lord of all king of kings and Lord of all lords, as it says in Philippians two.
David [00:05:32]:
Let’s look there. Philippians 2911 says, therefore, God also has highly exalted him and given him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow of those in heaven and of those on the earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father. Hallelujah. He is Lord. He is the king of Kingsley, the Lord of all lords. He is ruler over all. The third definition of omnipotence, or almighty, here is that word, almighty God. He is omnipotent because he is almighty God.
David [00:06:31]:
Second Corinthians 618 says this, I will be a father to you, and you shall be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty, the Lord Almighty, the omnipotent one. Think about this now. The Lord Almighty, the omnipotent one, says, we are his sons and daughters. Wow. In Christ all power is available to us. It is a part of who we are as his children, his heirs, joint heirs with Jesus Christ, the sons and daughters of God. Wow. That’s who you are.
David [00:07:19]:
You ought to read that verse over and over and get it down deep within you. You are a son or daughter of the Almighty God, the omnipotent one. The fourth definition here of omnipotent is the absolute and universal sovereign. Revelation one eight says, I am the alpha and the omega, the beginning and the end, says the Lord, who is and who was and who is to come. The Almighty. Let me read that again. I am the alpha and the omega, the beginning and the end, says the Lord, who is, who was and who is to come. The Almighty.
David [00:08:04]:
He is our beginning and our end. He is with us today. He always has been and always will be. There is no end to his power and authority. He is the absolute and universal sovereign king of kings and lord of lords. He is our high priest, the omnipotent one, the God of all power. Hallelujah. Thank you, Lord.
David [00:08:36]:
And God’s power is working in your behalf today, and we’re going to see that as we move on through this. But I just want you to stop and think for a minute. The God of all power is your God. He’s also your father, and we’re his children. And that power is available to us through our union with Christ. And because of the Holy Spirit living in us and working through us and with us and for us. His power is here for you every day. The second aspect of omnipotence is he is the God of all potential.
David [00:09:22]:
God is the source of all potential. All possible outcomes, developments and abilities stem from him. He holds within himself the capacity for anything to be or become. And that’s what that word potential means. It means to be or become more. John one, one, four. In the beginning was the word, and the word was with God. And the word was God.
David [00:09:54]:
He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through him, and without him, nothing was made. That was made. In him was life, and the life was the light of men. A moment ago we said, he holds within himself the capacity for anything to be or become. Now, we talked a lot about Genesis 128 in the past few weeks, but let’s go back there just for a moment. In Genesis 128, when the Lord spoke over Adam and Eve, he blessed them and said, be. And we remembered that, be fruitful, multiply, fill the earth, subdue the earth using all of its vast reach for it.
David [00:10:39]:
We’re going to read this in a minute. But he gave them the power to be. In fact, let’s go ahead and read it now. Genesis 128 in the amplified says this, and God bless them and said to them, be fruitful, multiply and fill the earth and subdue it using all of its vast resources in the service of God and Mandev, and have dominion over the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, and over every living creature that moves upon the earth. When God spoke over Adam and Eve, here he was activating the power of potential within them, the power to be and become more. God has placed within all of us the power of potential. He has given all of us the capacity to be or become more. Here’s a reality.
David [00:11:46]:
God is always becoming more. I remember one day I was in prayer. And I was just worshiping and praying. And I said, lord, I just look forward to the day, the time when I. And with you in heaven. And I know you. I know there everything there is to know about you, Father God, I know you completely. And I heard this kind of, like, chuckle, and I.
David [00:12:17]:
Since God had a grin on its face, I heard this, David, you’ll never know me completely. And I went, why? He goes, what’s my word say? Who am I? And I said, oh, you’re infinite. You’re new every day. You’re always becoming more. And he goes, exactly. He said, so there’s always going to be something new to discover about me, something new to know about me. And he said, guess what? You’re made in my image and likeness. And every day you’re going to be new.
David [00:12:56]:
Also. I got really excited. I want. Praise God. I am new every day. God is new every day. I’m new every day. Thank you, Lord, for your potential, for the power to be and become more.
David [00:13:15]:
We are created in his image and likeness. Therefore, we will always be becoming more throughout eternity. Let me share with you an example of God’s potential, something I’m familiar with, and I’m sure you will be, too. My uncle Dole, who is 96 years old, praised God for my uncle Dole. He’s been a great influence in my life. But my uncle Dole owned this big farm in the panhandle of north Florida, there, about 50 miles north of Panama City, just probably about 50 miles south of Dothan, Alabama, just right there in between. And so he owned this big farm. Well, one of the things Uncle Dole used to grow was corn, and he grew corn for market.
David [00:14:08]:
And so here’s a few facts about corn that I believe demonstrate God’s power of potential. The number of kernels on an ear of corn can vary from 500 to 1200. Think about that. One ear of corn has 500 to 1200 kernels on it. A typical ear has, on average, about 800 kernels. All of this comes from planting one tiny kernel of corn. That one kernel is filled with the potential of God to create the stalk that grows out of the ground to create that ear of corn. And all those kernels that are on that corn, that little kernel of corn, is filled with the potential of God to be and become more.
David [00:15:12]:
Think about that. Now, that’s just one example I could give you more. I could talk about oak trees or a lot of more, lot more things out there that demonstrate this. But let me say this, that same potential to be or become more resident within you. In fact, it’s in you in a greater degree than what we see in the corn. God is not holding out on his children. Here’s a fact about our current potential. Our brain, your brain, the one you have right there, your brain has the capacity, hallelujah.
David [00:15:58]:
To learn something new every second of every day, 24/7 for 300 years. That’s the capacity that God has given your brain, the potential he’s given you. Now think about that. We’re not even in our glorified being yet. Our glorified body and our brain already has that capacity and potential within it. Well, you say, well, then why don’t we feel like we can be or become more? Because that is one of the things the devil wants to rob us of. He doesn’t want us to know or believe that we can be or become more. All the time he’s trying to use people or situations or what’s going on in the world around us to limit our thinking and our beliefs about ourselves so we don’t grow and become more, grow beyond where we are.
David [00:17:00]:
Represent God in his kingdom in the way he intended for us to represent him in his kingdom. But let me say this. If you study the word of God, scripture has a different perspective about you. Let me just share a couple things with you right now. Number one, Philippians 413. We’ve all heard this verse. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. I can do all things.
David [00:17:33]:
Now that phrase all things in the greek there it means all things, anything, everything through Christ who strengthens me. If God wants you to do it, you have the power within you to do it. The strength within you to do it. The potential within you to do it. Philippians 413, in the amplified says it this way, I have strength for all things in Christ who empowers me. I am ready for anything and equal to anything through him who infuses inner strength into me. I am self sufficient in Christ’s sufficiency. Let me say this again.
David [00:18:17]:
You have everything within you. You need to become all that God has created you to be. Now let’s go back to a verse. We started with that first verse. John one, one through four. John chapter one, one through four. In the beginning was the word. And the word was with God.
David [00:18:44]:
And the word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through him, the word, and without him the word nothing was made. That was made. In him was life. And the life was was the light of man. Christ Jesus is the word that created everything. Christ Jesus is the word of potential that strengthens us and infuses life and energy into us.
David [00:19:20]:
So with that in mind, let’s think about Philippians 413 again, reading it this way. Now, this is David’s version. Okay, took some liberty here. Philippians 413. I have potential for all things and the word who empowers me. I am ready for anything and equal to anything through the word who infuses inner strength in me. I am self sufficient in the words sufficiency. Hallelujah.
David [00:19:58]:
Hallelujah. By the all right, I’m back. Here we go. Five, four, three. By the power of God within you, you can do all things through Christ. I know when something first comes, or God calls you to do something or impresses you to do something, it may seem overwhelming. But that power of potential within you, God’s unlimited power of potential within you, can do all things through you. I believe this is why what Paul wrote in romans twelve two is so important.
David [00:21:42]:
Romans twelve two and do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. Here’s a principle of truth. What you feed your spirit and your mind every day matters. Every bite of what you see, hear, read, listen to those people around you. Every bite counts. When you consume spiritually and mentally or let me say it this way, what you consume spiritually or mentally either supports and increases your potential, or hinders and limits your potential. Think about that. What you consume spiritually and mentally either supports and increases your potential, or hinders and limits your potential.
David [00:22:49]:
Here’s a simple question to ask yourself. Why would you ever limit your potential when God has placed within you the power of all potential, which is activated when you receive Jesus Christ as your Lord and savior, the God of all potential has placed within you the power to be, the power to become more throughout eternity. Hallelujah. The third aspect of omnipotence we’re looking at today is he is a God of all possibility. He is a God of all possibility. He is a God of all power. He is a God of all potential. He is a God of all possibility.
David [00:23:45]:
Our God governs and embodies the realm of all possibilities. Anything that can happen or exist is within him. He is the source of all that is possible now and forever. Lets look at a few examples of God making the seemingly impossible possible. The first one that came to mind was the Virgin Mary. The angel comes to talk to the Virgin Mary, and hes telling her whats going to happen. And in Luke 136 38, he says this now. Indeed, Elizabeth, your relative has also conceived a son in her old age, and this is now the 6th month for her, who was called Barren.
David [00:24:38]:
For with God nothing will be impossible, the angel tells Mary, for with God nothing shall be impossible. Then Mary said, behold the maidservant of the Lord. Let it be to me according to your word. And the angel departed from her. Guess what? Mary caught the vision. She believed the word. She thought, this sounds crazy, but I know it’s possible because God by his holy spirit, is pursuing this within me. Hallelujah.
David [00:25:18]:
God wants us to catch the vision and believe his word. Matthew 1926. This is when the rich young ruler had come to Jesus and Jesus had shared with him. Here’s what you need to do to be who you’re asking me if you can be to sell it all, all you have and come and follow me and give it to the poor. And he didn’t, he was discouraged by that and he didn’t hang around to hear the rest of what Jesus was going to tell him. So he left and the disciples and he said, wow, it’s really hard for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God. And the disciples were stunned. I because all their life they’ve been taught that poverty is under the curse of the law and we ought to walk in the blessing of Abraham.
David [00:26:20]:
And they’re going, well, then who can be saved? Lord Jesus looks at them and says this in Matthew 1926. But Jesus looked at them and said to them, with men this is impossible. But with God all things are possible. There we go again. All things are possible. This is a truth. We need to get deep within us. With God nothing will be impossible.
David [00:26:56]:
We should get up every day declaring this, go to bed every night declaring this, and along with it declare what Jesus said in Matthew 19 also. So with God nothing will be impossible. But with my God all things are possible. Get that deep within you. Do not let the enemy rob you of this truth and limit it working in your life. With God, all things are possible. With God there is always hope. With God there is always a way.
David [00:27:36]:
With God there is always an answer, no matter how bad things look. Paul said in Romans that our God, Jesus Christ, our Lord and savior, he is a God of hope. Romans 1513 there. And this is from the amplified may the God of your hope so fill you with all joy and peace in believing that through the experience of your faith that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound to be overflowing, bubbling over with hope. When we come and spend time in the word and spend time with our Lord, the God of all hope causes all hope to overflow in you, no matter what you’re facing. Even when something sounds really crazy, like with Abraham and Sarah. So God has come. He’s sitting with Abraham.
David [00:28:43]:
They fixed something to eat for Abraham and those in God and those within. And they are sitting there talking. And the Lord says to Abraham, Sarah is going to have a child. And she laughed. She was inside the tent, but she could hear them and she giggled. And Genesis, 1813 and 14. The Lord said this to Abraham and the Lord said to Abraham, why did Sarah laugh saying, surely shall I bear a child since I am old? Is anything too hard for the Lord? At the appointed time I will return to you according to the time of life and Sarah shall have a son. And we all know the end of the story.
David [00:29:36]:
Sarah, for Isaac, she had the son. Nothing is impossible with God. Nothing is too hard with God. His power makes all things possible. Jeremiah 30 217 says, ah, Lord God, behold, you have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and outstretched armst. There is nothing too hard for you. Let me ask you this. What are you believing for? What are you praying for? There’s nothing too hard for the Lord.
David [00:30:17]:
All things are possible. Now, you’ve heard me talk a lot about Ephesians 320, but I’m going to read it again here to you in the amplified. It says this now to him who bind, in consequence of the action of his power that is at work within us, is able to carry out his purpose and do superabundantly far over and above all that we dare ask or think infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, hopes or dreams. His power, his omnipotence, unlocks his potential and his possibilities within you. This is what we see here and this verse confirms it. When we believe God walking in faith with him, his purpose is accomplished within us and he goes way over and above, far beyond what we can think or ask or imagine. Paul says here in Ephesians three that he will do super abundantly, and I love this. Far over and above all that we dare ask or think.
David [00:31:40]:
What are you daring to ask or think? You can’t ask anything that is beyond it because God is always more and better. Excuse me. Then he says, by his power, God will do infinitely beyond never ending impact, never ending influence, never ending impartation, working in you, through you, with you and for you, our father. God wants to work his omnipotence, his potential, his possibilities through us and in us every day. We simply have to get up every day in faith and hope, walk in hope, expecting and looking for God’s direction and all that we hallelujah. God has so much in store for you and he wants you to be more and more and more. Hallelujah. Praise God.
David [00:32:58]:
We serve a God of increase and we are children of increase. Are you ready to go and grow beyond where you are? God’s going, come on, let’s take this journey together. Amen. Let’s bow our heads in prayer. Father, we thank you today for your power, your omnipotence, your almightiness, Lord, your never ending power, Father God, you’re never ending potential. You’re never ending possibilities. And that you desire by the action of your power to fulfill your purpose in us and work through us super abundantly, far over and above all that we dare ask or think, and I pray that we dare ask and thank you for some really big things. Lord.
David [00:33:50]:
We thank you, God, for more people being saved, more people being healed, and more people being delivered and set free. We thank you for your blessings being poured out on us all. Father God, we thank you for revival here in the earth, throughout our nation, Father God, and the nations around the world. We call forth Father God, the body of Christ, to come forth and represent you and be all that you’ve called us to be. That your kingdom may come and your will be done here in the earth as it is in heaven. And we thank you for that, Father. Thank you. Thank you.
David [00:34:33]:
Thank you for working in us, for working through us, for working with us and for us every day, in every way, in Jesus name. So be it. Hallelujah. Pastor Conia is coming now with a closing word and prayer. God bless.
