Conia [00:00:08]:
When last we met, I began to tell you about being a citizen of heaven, that you are a citizen of heaven. And kind of all the descriptions. And we went through lots of scriptures. If you missed that, you need to go back and catch it on our YouTube channel and catch up, get the notes from it and really understand what it that you, you are a citizen of heaven and all the scripture that backs it up. Because you have to know that before we go on to the next part. Because not only are you a citizen of heaven, but because you are a citizen of heaven and you exist in here in the earth. You are an ambassador for heaven here in the Earth. And today we’re going to talk about what it means to be an ambassador for heaven.
Conia [00:01:11]:
We talked a little bit about this last time, and we talked about what an ambassador is, that, you know, even though we live in the United States States, that there are ambassadors from other countries that come into the United States and they have land here within our country’s borders, but actually that land is sovereign to them. And we talked about being able to step into the heavenly realm at any time. And you can do that. You can step into your homeland, which is heaven. And if you have been adopted into kingship and you are a child of the most High God because you have accepted Christ as your Savior, and if you haven’t done that, I would greatly suggest that you do that. And if you need to know more about that, definitely get in touch with us and we will be happy to chat with you one on one about exactly what it means to become a child of the most High God. But once you’ve accepted Jesus as savior, you are now a citizen of heaven. You exist here in the earth for this time.
Conia [00:02:22]:
This is a specific time that you are here physically in a human body. Your spirit is encompassed in the human body, but you are still, as a spirit, a citizen of heaven. This is not your origin. This is not your homeland. You’re an ambassador while you’re here for the kingdom. So today we’re going to look at what does it mean to be an ambassador for heaven. And then next time I get to be with you. We’re going to talk about how do we function, what special gifts do we have, how do we function? And as an ambassador of heaven, so we talked about that you’re a citizen of heaven.
Conia [00:03:12]:
And as a citizen today, we’re going to talk about that you’re an ambassador for heaven. And then next time we’re going to talk about the fact that there are so many things that Come along with that. And what exactly does that mean? So buckle up, get your Bible out. We’re going to hit some scriptures, because you know what? You can’t really have a message without scripture. There’s just not a whole lot of point in that. So we’re going to hit a lot of scriptures. We’re going to talk about, what does it mean to be an ambassador for heaven? It means you’re a representative of God’s kingdom. That’s easy enough, right? You carry his message, his values and authority.
Conia [00:03:55]:
While you live here, which is a foreign land to you now, this is not your homeland, like an earthly ambassador, Your identity, loyalty, and your mission, what you’re supposed to do while you’re here comes from where you represent, which is heaven. Often I talk to our corporate clients about the fact that nothing that we do here on the earth, a vocation, has any kind of bearing on what we’re going to do in heaven. So lots of things that we do have bearing on what we do in heaven. But our vocation, you’re not going to be, you know, selling real estate in heaven. There’s nobody going to be, you know, fixing cars in heaven. That’s not going to exist. So everything that we do as a vocation is a function of what we’re doing here as ambassadors. It just allows us to be here and do that often.
Conia [00:05:03]:
If you talk to missionaries, a lot of times in countries where the word is not welcomed, where Christ is not welcomed, they will go into countries and teach school, or they will have some sort of official function that allows them to be in that country, and then they can speak the word to those that they find. But that is not their. Their occupation is not really their primary function for going to those countries as missionaries. And you really are a missionary no matter where you are here in the United States. Just because you’re not traveling far does not mean that you are not a missionary for the kingdom. And that’s part of being an ambassador. You represent the kingdom of God as a missionary. 2nd Corinthians 5:20.
Conia [00:05:58]:
New King James for this one. Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ. It’s right there. I didn’t make this up. This is not something that I thought, oh, this sounds lovely. No, this is biblical. We are ambassadors for Christ. And as though God were pleading through us, through us, we implore you on Christ’s behalf to be reconciled to God.
Conia [00:06:29]:
And so what they’re talking about here is we are ambassadors for Christ, and now we are imploring others to come to Christ okay, so as an ambassador, you speak on behalf of Christ. You’re speaking on Christ’s behalf. You have been given that authority here in the earth because you are that citizen of heaven. Your words and your life urge others to be reconciled to God. Notice it’s your words and your life. Sometimes the only Jesus that people see is the Jesus in you. And it’s because your life represents the kingdom. And it’s not just what you say.
Conia [00:07:15]:
It’s how you do it. It’s how you function. It’s not just your job, it’s not just your vocation. It’s how you go about that job and that vocation, how you go about relating to those people that God has put in your purview, which actually kind of makes them your responsibility. It’s a jurisdiction. You have jurisdiction in certain areas. As an ambassador, we don’t promote our own agenda. We are here to promote heaven’s agenda.
Conia [00:07:45]:
And if we get lost and we forget and we start promoting our own agenda, that’s when life gets twisted up. And that’s when we start noticing, okay, things aren’t going well. And that’s when we have to stop and get connected back to our homeland so that we get back focused where we’re supposed to be. Your home country is not of this world. So Philippians 3:20. For our citizenship is in heaven. We talked about this last time. It’s what we started with, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ.
Conia [00:08:24]:
We’re waiting for the Savior. He’s coming back. But we really are functioning out of heaven in that weight. We live abroad, but we are loyal to our homeland. Our customs and our culture are shaped by heaven. The things that we do, the things that we partake of, should be shaped by, by heaven. And if you go back into the Old Testament, you’ll see there’s lots of things that God mandated. And he said, this is what you need to be doing.
Conia [00:09:02]:
These are the celebrations you need to be having. These are the remembrances that you need to have of me. Not because he’s trying to be mean. It’s really because God is trying to remind us and renew our minds for through the customs and the celebrations of who he is, so that we don’t forget. So that’s why the customs of our homeland are what we celebrate here in the earth. I was once in New York and got caught in a parade, and it was very, very exuberant in the celebration. And I’m looking around all these people, and they’re very brightly Dressed and lots of plumage and lots of stuff. And I’m like, what on earth is going on? And we were stuck because people were double and triple parked and they’re all down the streets.
Conia [00:10:03]:
It’s like, what is going on? It was the Puerto Rican Independence Day parade in the middle of New York City. You had people who had moved here, but their homeland was Puerto Rico. And they were celebrating that because they weren’t going to forget their culture and they weren’t going to forget their heritage. And so there was a huge parade in the middle of New York, which admittedly is somewhat distant from Puerto Rico. And those people were celebrating their heritage in the middle of all that. So. So it was fun to watch. Once we realized what it was, we eventually made it out of there.
Conia [00:10:41]:
But it was a long time after we wanted to be out of there that we finally made it out of there. We speak and live according to heaven’s constitution. And we’re going to talk about this a little bit more next time, but just to give you a touch of this. Matthew 5, 14, 16. You are the light of the world. Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven. So what you’re doing here is to glorify the Father. Let your light shine.
Conia [00:11:22]:
Do what you’re going to do with in mind that you are glorifying the Father. When you do it, your behavior reflects heaven’s values, word and conduct. We come back to that over and over again. It’s not just what you say, it’s how you act. If we have an ambassador from the United States that’s in a foreign country and they are misbehaving, no matter what they’re saying in an official capacity, the way they’re behaving represents the United States, and they can be and should be recalled so that they don’t sully the good name of the United States when they’re doing that. So it’s all about not just your words, but your actions as well. You are on a mission of peace and reconciliation. Remember I said you’re a missionary no matter where you are.
Conia [00:12:18]:
And that’s what it means to be an ambassador for Christ. So Romans 10:15 and this one always kind of catches me off guard a little bit because we don’t normally talk about feet, but this one talks about feet. But it’s a. It’s a really good. It’s a. It’s a lovely representation of how we behave. How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the Gospel of peace who bring glad tidings, good things. It just means we’re happy to see them.
Conia [00:12:53]:
It means those feet that bring that person to you are so treasured. And it’s not beautiful just in physicality. It’s beautiful in function. So you’re not just a citizen, you’re a messenger of peace. That’s a big message. And we talk about that in, you know, every beauty pageant contestant, you know, gets up there and they ask her what her mission is, and she says, world peace. And. And.
Conia [00:13:26]:
And, you know, we kind of make fun of it a little bit. It would be a great mission if. If that was really kind of what they were out there for. And maybe some of them are. I’m not making fun of every. Every beauty pageant contestant, but it is so common that it’s kind of become cliche, and so it’s lost, I think, a lot of its meaning for us. And we need to put the meaning back into being a missionary for peace. Being a messenger for peace, that is important.
Conia [00:14:02]:
And if you don’t think that being a messenger for peace is important, look at what happens when there’s unrest. Look at what happens when there’s unrest in your spirit. Look at what happens when there’s unrest in a home. Look at what happens when there’s unrest in a city or a country. And then you begin to understand for a moment what it means to be a messenger for peace and how important being a messenger for peace is. We have to be at peace. And if we’re at peace, we are good ambassadors for the kingdom. We are good messengers for the kingdom, bringing peace to those around us.
Conia [00:14:50]:
You being at peace has an effect on everybody around you. I promise it does. Babies know this. Babies have absolute knowledge of who’s holding them and whether they’re at peace or they’re not at peace. And that baby will not relax and get comfortable in the arms of someone who’s not at peace. You want to talk about spirits sensing one another. That baby knows when your spirit is not at peace. So that’s why we tell young moms often, you have to be at peace when you are tense, when you’re twisted up, when you are verklempt.
Conia [00:15:33]:
It just is going to contribute to your baby being not at peace, disturbed, upset. And that gives us all kinds of physical negativity, too. People talk about, oh, upset stomachs. Upset stomachs come when you’re not at peace. Sometimes it’s because you ate bad pizza, but most of the time it’s because you’re not at peace. So as an ambassador for the kingdom, heaven’s at peace. Everything in heaven is at peace. There’s nobody wringing their hands in heaven.
Conia [00:16:18]:
There’s nobody wondering where the next meal’s coming from. He in heaven. There’s nobody fighting with one another in heaven. Heaven is at peace. And so that means you are on a mission of peace. And it is super, super important. Study out peace and see what that actually, what that holds. What does peace really mean? What does it really hold? And then you’ll understand why your message is so important.
Conia [00:16:53]:
Here in the earth. You operate with delegated authority. That just means it’s been bestowed upon you, it’s been given to you, it’s been delegated to you, and it’s now a responsibility. So Luke 10:19 says, Behold, I give you the authority over all the power of the enemy, and by no means shall anything hurt you. You walk in spiritual authority. We’ve been given authority. Nothing can come nigh us. When we exercise our authority in Christ.
Conia [00:17:40]:
When we properly exercise our authority and we come against that, that’s coming against anything of God, then we are now being effective against those things, and that is acting as that authority. Okay, we want to make sure. We want to make sure that we are walking in the authority that Heaven has given us as ambassadors here in the earth. And you think about a police officer. If he’s not in uniform and he hasn’t declared himself as a police officer, if he’s in a group of people that are misbehaving, they don’t have any respect for him, and he doesn’t carry any authority in his capacity as a police officer because he. He is not exuding that he even has that authority. So they’re not going to pay attention to him. They’re not going to respond to him because it’s not evident that he has authority.
Conia [00:18:52]:
But if he whips out a badge and declares himself as a police officer for that particular jurisdiction we talked about, we have jurisdictions. So if he does that, then now it’s been declared that he has this authority and he’s walking in and he’s operating in his authority as an officer of the law. So we have to walk in our authority as ambassadors of heaven. And here again, we’ll talk a little bit more about that next time when we talk about how do you act, how do you operate? But part of that is that authority that we operate in as ambassadors of heaven, as messengers of peace, as mission or missionaries here in the earth, right where we are. Okay, so you live according to a higher standard. And here again, we’re going to go deeper into that next time. But the higher standard. Second Timothy 2, 4.
Conia [00:19:59]:
No one engaged in warfare entangles himself with the affairs of this life and that he may please him who enlisted him as a soldier. So what this is saying is that when you become a soldier, you’re no longer thinking about the rest of this life. The person who has brought you in as a soldier, your commander, is now the one that you need to please. Okay? So as a soldier, we’re not worrying about pleasing anybody else. We’re not worrying about pleasing the, the head of some department at some corporation because we’re not under that authority anymore. As a soldier for the kingdom, we are focused solely on pleasing that person, that God who sent us. So you got to think about that. It’s not no longer now that you are, now that you’ve been pulled into, now that you have signed up for the kingdom of heaven, you are now in the army of heaven.
Conia [00:21:12]:
And as such, your sole responsibility is to carry out the mission of the army of heaven. Now then, you may do that in different venues and different avenues, but your focus has to be on what you were called to do. Often in our two chairs time that we’ve talked about many times, I compare it to going and getting your marching orders every morning because you need to know what the commander is having you to do that day. And the commander knows, all right. We are merely the ambassadors, the ambassadors for the United States. They respond to the commander in chief for their instructions. And so, and they represent the United States where they are. And the same thing with the people from foreign countries in our country.
Conia [00:22:05]:
They are beholden to the leaders of their country from whence they came. They are not beholden to our leaders, and they have diplomatic immunity. And so we, we talk, we’re going to talk about living to that higher standard and we’re going to talk a little bit in a minute about being set apart and how important that is. We await the King’s return. Matthew 24:14 and this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations. And then the end will come. That’s part of your job. That’s part of the great command that we are supposed to carry out is we are all charged with preaching the good news.
Conia [00:22:52]:
That is what we are all supposed to be doing here in the earth is preaching the good news to everybody around us here again, not just in word, but also in deed. We’re part of a global Mission preparing the world for the return of King Jesus. We’re the precursor. We’re the trumpet sounds before the actual event. And that’s part of our job as citizens of heaven, as ambassadors for the kingdom. Our job entails letting people know that the king is coming. And that’s pretty exciting. And that’s a big job that we want to make sure that we take full importance in.
Conia [00:23:40]:
We don’t want to kind of look past that and think it’s a byproduct or it’s something that we think about only once a week when we go to church on Sunday. Now, that’s our primary function, is spreading that good news to God’s children so that everyone can be reconciled back to him as his dear, dear children. And that’s what we’re doing. We’re reuniting families. We’re reuniting children with their father every single day. When we’re sharing the good news, it’s important. Just like peace. Our role is not passive.
Conia [00:24:23]:
It’s not just a kind of we function every day and we do what we’re supposed to do. And, you know, we’ve got our train ticket and we’re going to heaven. It’s not a passive role. It’s a very active role we participate in. We take action daily in this role. It’s active and it’s urgent and it is prophetic. You know, people might not think that they are prophetic, but when you are sharing the news, the good news of Christ’s return, then you are actually being prophetic. Pretty cool.
Conia [00:25:06]:
And last, we are set apart. We talk about that we have diplomatic immunity. Part of taking your authority and part of being set apart is describing that diplomatic immunity that we have here in the earth as citizens of heaven. So as citizens of heaven, none of these evil things shall come nigh us. It says, First Peter 2, 9. We’re a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, his own special people. We are set apart. Just because we’re here in the earth does not make us citizens of the earth.
Conia [00:25:51]:
And we’ve been chosen not to just blend in. It should be obvious that we are not citizens of this world. If you think about here again, when we talk about people from foreign nations having their piece of land here in the earth in the United States, when we talk about them having that special place that is still their property within the United States, they still wear their customary clothing. They still eat the same foods that they would eat at home. They still function in the same customs that they would function in were they at home. And that’s what we’re supposed to do here in the earth. We are supposed to function as if we were in heaven because we talked about that. We can step into the heavenly realm at any time.
Conia [00:27:00]:
And so we are to function as citizens of heaven. And that’s where we’re gonna go next week. You are set apart. You are a mission. And your mission is important. You are an ambassador. You became an ambassador when you accepted Christ. It’s crazy important to understand what that means.
Conia [00:27:32]:
So go back. Know that you are a citizen of Heaven. We are not citizens here in the earth. We are citizens of. Of Heaven. We are set apart. We have authority that we are to operate in, and if we don’t, we’re walking in disobedience. Really.
Conia [00:27:57]:
We are doing things that we were not told to do, and it actually is to our judgment. It makes our own lives more difficult. So really, if you want to make your life easier, fall in line with what God has asked you to do. Understand, recognize, know that you are a citizen of heaven. And as a citizen of heaven who’s been placed right here in the earth for this time period, you’re responsible to be an ambassador and represent well the kingdom of Heaven. And that’s incumbent upon all of us. And it’s not necessarily easy to do, but we keep trying. We keep renewing our mind, we keep restoring our minds so that we can do that.
Conia [00:28:49]:
Because it is our great commission, it is a charge from the throne of heaven that we be ambassadors for the kingdom. Let me pray for you guys. Father, thank you for this time together. Thank you, Lord, for a greater depth of understanding of what it means to be a citizen of heaven, and therefore an ambassador for the kingdom. Reveal to us, Lord, as we go through this week, your plan, your purpose for us while we were here in the earth. Lord, we just endeavor to carry it out in a way that would make you smile upon us and say, well done. We love you, Lord. We praise you.
Conia [00:29:40]:
We thank you. In Jesus name, amen. Y’ all have a great week. Pastor David’s coming. He’s going to close this out.
