David [00:00:00]:
Good morning, everyone. Again, we’re looking into Psalm 65:11, which says, you crown the year with your goodness and your paths drip with abundance. Hallelujah. Last week we began looking into this verse, the meaning of it as it relates to the New Year to 2026. And as I said last week, a couple of months ago, during our morning devotions, I was reading Psalm 65 and the Lord stopped me at verse 11.
David [00:00:47]:
And as I read this verse over and over several times, I heard the Lord say to me, this is your 2026 Focus. This is what I want you to bring to the body of Christ in 2026. Study it, meditate on it, pray over it, and teach it. And so that’s what we began doing a few weeks ago. I think this is our third week looking at this verse. And so what I know for sure as I study this and pray over it, God has a lot he wants to do in us and through us, with us and for us in this coming year, as we seek him, hearing and studying His Word, he will show us what is to come and where he is taking us. Last week we began by looking into what it means to crown something or crown someone. Actually, it was a couple weeks ago.
David [00:01:46]:
And what we saw was that the word crown means to encircle. It means to cover it. It means to surround or wrap something or someone with dignity, honor and favor. It is a blessing by royalty from the throne. And here in Psalm 65:11, it. It is referencing the divine place of authority, the place of all true authority, where it all flows from the highest authority, the throne of God. What we arrived at last time was God’s word to us is I’m going to encircle, cover, surround and wrap this year with my dignity, honor and favor, day to day, week to week, month to month, from the highest place of authority, the throne of God, I decree this. That’s what the Lord said to me.
David [00:02:54]:
As we’ve looked into the meaning of the word year, it simply means the seasons to come. So this is the picture God wants us to see. God is crowning our year, January 1st through December 31st, with his goodness. We’re not moving through 2026 on our own. We’re not moving through 2026 by ourselves. We’re moving through this year under the covering of God’s authority, dignity, honor, and favor. Wow. Think about that.
David [00:03:33]:
I encourage you to get up every day this year and declare that I am moving through today under the covering of God’s authority, dignity, honor and favor. Praise God. Just hearing that again just builds that confidence of boldness within me to go out there and expect great things today. Amen. We discussed how you could measure the year by events situationally, or we can measure things by who God is and his involvement, he who reigns over every season. We looked at the fact that a season is far more than a period of time on a calendar. A season is a divinely appointed window, a God ordained moment in which he accomplishes specific purposes in his people and in history. As Ecclesiastes 3:1 says to everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven.
David [00:04:42]:
For 2026, God has crowned the year for his intended purpose and plan. His purpose and plan for this year includes you. God is bringing something of value to us in 26. God is bringing something of worth to us in 2026, but he’s also bringing something of value and worth through us in 2026. God is beginning something new that will impact our destiny moving forward through this year and in the years to come. As we began to focus last week on what he’s crowned this year with, what we found that simply put, the definition of goodness, which is what he’s crowning the year with, is God’s character. It’s his full expression of who he is. The psalmist David is saying, God, you crowned the year with the fullness of who you are.
David [00:05:48]:
God is crowning 2026 with his fullness so we can walk in his fullness. He’s crowning 2026 with all he is, all of his goodness, so that we can walk in his goodness and share it with others. And like Paul said in Ephesians 3, 8, there’s we can proclaim and demonstrate to the world the unending, boundless, fathomless, incalculable and exhaustless grace and riches of Christ, the goodness and wealth of God which no human being could ever search out. So God’s goodness, who he is, his purpose, is superabundantly far, over and above, infinitely beyond all that we dare think or imagine. Now, we talked about that word Infinite means without limits, boundless, having neither beginning nor end of existence. It’s being infinite in presence, power and wisdom all around and in all is God’s goodness. Amen. So today we look at this part of the verse.
David [00:07:08]:
You crown the year with your goodness and your paths drip with abundance. Your paths drip with abundance. That word paths there simply means this God’s way, a course of action or lifestyle. David is saying, lord, your path, your way, what you do, how you live, drips with abundance. Reminds me of a verse in Isaiah. Isaiah 55, 9 says this. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. So that could be translated, so are my paths, my actions, my lifestyle higher than yours, and my thoughts are higher than yours.
David [00:08:07]:
So David is shifting the imagery here. Not only is God crowning the year with his goodness, his paths drip with abundance. His ways, his actions, his lifestyle. Hallelujah. God has a way. We may find a way, but God has a way that’s much higher than ours and much better than ours. And what we see here, what David is saying, is, where God walks, abundance follows. This phrase paints a picture of land so blessed that that the ground is dripping and overflowing with provision.
David [00:08:58]:
Dripping and overflowing with provision. Imagine this. Wherever God steps, the soil becomes fertile. The fields flourish, the dry places come alive and spring forth. The desert begins to bloom. David is saying to us, through this God, your footsteps create fruitfulness. Everywhere you move, life springs up. You may feel like you’re in a barren place.
David [00:09:39]:
The enemy may be attacking you, saying, oh, you don’t have anything. Nothing’s working, nothing’s growing. You’re not being prayed, productive. But let me share this with you. If God is leading you and you’re following him and walking in his way, the barren place will not stay barren. Everything around you will flourish, come alive, and begin to bloom. Because here’s one thing we need to remember. God’s goodness.
David [00:10:15]:
God’s goodness is covering us with dignity, honor and favor. And it surrounds us. Now. Let me share this with you. Remind you of this. Abundance isn’t just material. When we hear the word abundance, we often think in earthly terms of, oh, more money or more stuff, more things. But God’s abundance is far richer than just stuff and things.
David [00:10:50]:
His abundance includes peace. The peace that guards your mind, the peace that passes understanding. His abundance includes strength that renews your heart. Scripture tells us this. This is one of the purposes of the Holy Spirit living, dwelling within us. He quickens us. He renews our strength and vitality in life every day. Hallelujah.
David [00:11:23]:
Thank you, Lord. His abundance is joy that carries you. Joy, joy, joy even in the midst of what seems hard. His joy sustains you and carries you. It means favor that opens doors. God’s favor surrounds you as with a shield. It’s all around you. It wraps you.
David [00:11:53]:
It covers you. You’re walking in God’s favor. Today, don’t let the enemy rob you of that truth and that promise that is yours as a child of God. And his favor opens doors that no man can open for you. He can take you places, put you in front of people, bring things your way that seem impossible. But with God, all things are possible. His abundance includes wisdom. Wisdom, wisdom, wisdom.
David [00:12:32]:
As it says in James, if you lack wisdom, simply ask. God says, sure. Here, let me give you some insight. Let me give you revelation on that. Let me give you understanding. God loves to share his wisdom with us, and he wants to share it with us. Hallelujah. His abundance comes in so many different ways.
David [00:13:02]:
And then last but not least is abundance is provision for every need. Every need, spirit, soul, body, financially, relationally, every need God provides for us. In Ephesians 4:19, there in the amplified, it says, and God liberally supplies and fills to the full my every need. Hallelujah. Jesus said in John 10:10, I came that they may have life and have it more abundantly. And that word abundantly there means to the full till it overflows. God came to give us abundant, overflowing life. This shows the heart of God, the heart of our Father for us.
David [00:14:07]:
His paths, his ways drip with abundance. Abundance is a condition of the soul, the mind, the will and the emotions. Before it is ever a condition of your bank account. It happens within us and through us before it happens outside of us. It is a mindset that we take hold of because of God’s word and because of his promises. I think abundantly, I feel abundantly, I choose abundantly. It’s an attitude, an attitude of focus. Abundance is a way of being.
David [00:15:06]:
I am being God’s child and I walk in his provision and his abundance each and every day. It is not based on what is in your hand at the moment. You could have thousands of dollars in your hand and still not be walking in abundance or have a mindset of abundance. That’s just stuff. And it can be gone like that. When we walk in God’s abundance, He sustains us in it. And it goes on and on and on and on, on. No matter what is happening situationally around us.
David [00:15:43]:
You see God’s abundance. God’s way leads to fruitfulness in every, every area of life. God’s ways lead to fruitfulness even when his ways seem unfamiliar, a little odd, strange. You know, sometimes the path that God leads us down doesn’t look that abundant at all. God, are you sure? Where are we going here? Sometimes it looks uncomfortable, unfamiliar, unpredictable. But here’s the truth. If you follow his path, his way, even if it begins in a dry place, it’s always in in a fruitful place. If he’s leading you, he’s leading you somewhere good.
David [00:16:42]:
Hallelujah. His paths drip with goodness. This is another way to say that God has never led anyone into barrenness. He only leads us through, through barrenness, on the way to abundance, to an expression of his goodness. Then Psalm 65:11 goes on to say this. Not only does your paths where you walk, not only are they abundant, Father, they drip with abundance. And that word drip there in the Hebrew I waited to talk about, it means this. It means a flow or an overflow.
David [00:17:34]:
It could be translated, your paths overflow with abundance. There’s just a continuous flow of abundance in your paths. Again, John 10:10 from the Amplified I’ve already shared this with you. Let me read it to you again. The thief comes only in order to steal, kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life and have it in abundance to the full till it overflows. It drips with abundance. Another word here that you could put in there with abundance and blessing and overflow.
David [00:18:20]:
And you see this in the Hebrew sometimes it’s fatness. And fatness speaks of blessing, the fullness, the more than enough there in the Hebrew. Psalm 36:7,9 says this, how precious is your loving kindness, O God. Therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of your wings, and they are abundant, abundantly satisfied with the fullness of your house. And you give them drink from the river of your pleasures. For with you is the fountain of life. In your light we see light. Hallelujah.
David [00:19:08]:
God is saying we are abundantly satisfied with the fatness of his house, the fullness of his house. That’s where God wants you living today. That’s what Jesus came to give us. That’s his promise to us. And he’s saying he’s crowning this year with his goodness and his paths are going to drip with abundance so that we can share it with others and we can demonstrate the goodness and the abundance of God to all those around us abundantly satisfied with the fatness of God’s house. Hallelujah. That’s where God wants you. That’s what he wants you expecting.
David [00:19:57]:
That’s what he wants you looking for. This year you crown the year. This is from the NLT. I want to read you Psalm 65:11 and new living translation says it this way. You crown the year with a bountiful harvest. Hallelujah. Even the hard pathways Overflow with abundance. Even the hard pathways overflow with abundance.
David [00:20:28]:
Wow, What a promise. And it is. Psalm 65:11 is a promise to us, but it’s also an invitation. If God crowns your year with his goodness and his paths drip with abundance, then the question becomes, how do we walk in that? How do we walk in that? And it’s simple. It really is simple. We follow the king in his way. We pursue him. We seek him.
David [00:21:07]:
If you want the king’s crown, you have to walk in the king’s way. Remember what he said in Isaiah 55. 9. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways. My ways. My ways, my lifestyle, my manner of living, my actions, my choices. Higher than your ways. And my thoughts.
David [00:21:32]:
And your thoughts. Remember that definition, a course of action, a lifestyle. God says, I’m living up here. I’m inviting you to come up here with me. God only crowns what he governs. And so if you want to be governed and crowned by God your Father, you simply surrender. God only crowns what he governs, and he only anoints what is surrendered. So what does that mean? That means this.
David [00:22:17]:
Every day, surrender your plans, your agenda to him. God, I’ve got plans. I’ve got an agenda today, but I surrender it all to you. If it needs to change, show me. Change it. If you have a different idea, share it with me. Show me. I’ll walk in it.
David [00:22:38]:
I’ll follow you. Lord. Surrender your calendar. Surrender your expectations and look for his. What are your expectations today, Father? How can I walk with you today? What’s your purpose and plan for this day? Which takes us back to Proverbs 3, 5 and 6, and this is from the amplified classic, also says, lean on, trust in and be confident in the Lord with all your heart and your mind. And do not rely on your own insight or understanding. In all your ways, know, recognize and acknowledge Him. And he will direct and make straight and plain your paths.
David [00:23:31]:
Not only has God invited you to walk in his path, he’s going to show you and make straight and plain and direct your paths your way. So your way is in alignment with his way. So you’re walking like he walks. And where he’s walking, talking like he talks, hallelujah. That’s a promise of God. You’re not. Again, we’re not going through this year alone. God is going through it with us.
David [00:24:04]:
He’s walking with us as we know, recognize and acknowledge Him. And all of all of our ways, he will direct and make straight and plain our path. He will show us the way. Hallelujah. He will show us the way. Praise God. God wants to do this for us. You know, Jesus showed us a really good example of this when he was praying in the Garden of Gethsemane.
David [00:24:35]:
And he said, not my will, but yours be done. Not my will, but yours be done. Thank God he surrendered his will to the will of the Father. That’s why we all are here today. That’s why we can come into relationship with our Father God and the Lord Jesus Christ. That’s why we stand redeemed. Redeemed today because Jesus surrendered his will to the Father God. Hallelujah.
David [00:25:14]:
Hallelujah. The psalmist says in Psalm 27:13, I would have lost heart unless I believed I would see the goodness of the Lord. The psalmist said, I would have lost hope, lost all heart, but I believed I would see another way. We walk in. This is follow him, pursue him. But believe that you will see it, that you will see the goodness of the Lord. Expect it. Expectation is a soil in which God’s goodness grows.
David [00:25:56]:
Expectation fertilizes the growth of God’s goodness all around us. Scarcity thinking, a scarcity mindset shuts the door. But hope, expectation opens it. Walk into your day saying, I expect God’s favor today. I expect God’s faithfulness today. I expect God’s provision today. I expect God’s abundance today. I expect God’s goodness to wrap me and surround me, encircle me and cover me today.
David [00:26:40]:
Expectation. And the third thing is this. So we come seeking him, seeking to walk in his way. We come with expectation and hope. We come walking in obedience. Abundance is found on God’s path, not on our own path. God blesses his direction. If you want abundance, stay on his path.
David [00:27:10]:
Be obedient. Follow after him. Let his word guide you. Let his spirit lead you. Let obedience protect you and keep you. Blessing is on the other side of obedience. As we obey, blessings come. And then the fourth thing is this.
David [00:27:36]:
Practice gratitude. And I know I’ve mentioned this before. We’ve had Brother Jackie listed on and he shared several times about gratitude. Practice gratitude. Gratitude is the healthiest of all emotions. Gratitude just doesn’t celebrate God’s goodness. It reveals it when you’re grateful for every day. A grateful heart sees the crown.
David [00:28:11]:
Even when it’s not obvious, even when the season feels heavy, it still knows we are crowned with his goodness and we’re grateful for it. Gratitude turns not enough into more than enough. It transforms your vision and how you see so you can recognize God’s abundance every moment and see where it is that it’s coming. Psalm65 11. God crowns the year with its goodness and its paths drip with abundance. This is a declaration, a promise. It is a spiritual posture for us to walk in and live in. It tells us God is surrounding this year, covering this year, wrapping this year.
David [00:29:25]:
With his goodness. His paths overflow with abundance, and his leadership as he leads us and guides us in his way, is always toward life. And as Jesus said, life to the full till it overflows. Overflowing life. As you enter into this year, know this. You don’t have to fear the future. You don’t have to dread the next season. You don’t have to anticipate, lack or loss because your year is crowned by a king who is good and you are walking paths prepared by a God who brings abundance everywhere he goes.
David [00:30:27]:
If God crowns your year, nothing in the year can dethrone his goodness. Hallelujah. Let me say that again. If God crowns your year with goodness, nothing in the year can dethrone his goodness. If you follow his path, you will not walk into barrenness. You will walk into abundance. Let this be your declaration for the year or the season ahead. My year is crowned with God’s goodness.
David [00:31:03]:
His dignity, honor and favor surround me every day. His abundance is on the path before me and I will see his goodness in every season of this year. Amen. God is with you. God is for you. God is working in you and God is working through you. Rejoice. Rejoice and be glad in Him.
David [00:31:37]:
Let’s bow our heads in prayer. Father, thank you for your word to us today that not only are you crowning this year with your goodness, but your paths, your way, the life you desire for us to live is dripping with abundance, with overflow, with blessing beyond measure. Thank you for giving us insight and wisdom and revelation into this verse and into what it means for us personally so that we can go out and declare it and share it with all those around us and all those you bring to us this year. God, we partner with you. We link arms with you. Today we surrender ourselves to you and declare that we’re going to walk through this year with you. And as you crown the year, you’re going to crown us and we’re going to go forth and share your goodness, your love, your mercy, your blessing, your abundance with all those we engage and encounter and come into contact with this year. And we thank you for great things.
David [00:32:46]:
Lord, we thank you for great things coming forth and we praise you for it in Jesus name, Amen. Hallelujah. Go out there every day expecting his goodness and looking for it and sharing it with all those around you. Pastor Kanye is coming now with a closing prayer and thought. God bless you.
