Good morning, everyone. Welcome to Emerge International Church Online. We’re so glad you’re here with us today as we close out the month of June. We just want to come and celebrate together and rejoice in all God’s goodness. God is so good, so good, so good, all the time, in every way. What a wonderful Father God we have, and what a wonderful life he’s called us to live — and we’re going to learn even more about that today as we get into the Word.
Pastor Kanye shared on our offering time today: offering is something we get to do. It’s something God has provided us with the seed to sow — he provides seed to the sower. Offering is something that if you give God what’s in your hands, he’ll give you back more than you could ever begin to imagine. When you sow into good soil, and we believe that we at Emerge International Church are that good soil that you can trust to harvest later on, you will receive a harvest. And not only a harvest, but there’s credit given to you because you are in collaboration with us — wherever Emerge reaches, you by extension also reach. It takes your seed and makes it such a great effect for the kingdom.
There are several ways you can give today: you can text to give, using the code at the bottom of your screen, or go to our website, EmergeInternationalChurch.org, and click the give button. Thank you for partnering with us to take the good news of Jesus Christ to the world.
Let’s bow our heads in prayer. Father God, we come to you this morning. We thank you for this opportunity to sow into your kingdom, and we thank you, Lord Jesus, for the blessing that comes back from this. We believe for everyone a hundredfold return on every single seed sown. Thank you, Lord Jesus, for the opportunity for us to partner with you and see your word go forth around the world. Thank you, Lord Jesus, for partners and people that we get to minister to every week, and we praise you for it in Jesus’ name, Amen.
Let’s get into the word. Well, the last few weeks we have been revisiting what it means to be crowned with God’s goodness. We’ve looked at all the blessings and benefits of being crowned as a child of God, and once again, we have found that we are blessed beyond measure. Our Father God, Jesus Christ, has given us the power to be crowned with God’s goodness beyond measure. Our Father God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit love us unconditionally.
Last week we took a little break and celebrated fathers. I hope all of you had a great Father’s Day. But today we are looking at what it means to crown the year with God’s goodness. So we are going back to what we started this year with, Psalm 65:11, New King James Version: You crown the year with your goodness and your paths drip with abundance.
The word crowned here in this verse means to encircle, to cover, to surround, to wrap — with dignity, honor, authority, identity, and favor. A blessing by royalty from the throne is what it means. The place of divine authority where all true authority flows from — the highest authority, the place where Christ is seated in the heavenlies above all power, authority, and dominion. And guess what? You are right there with him. We all are.
This is what the Lord directed me to teach on this year, so we are revisiting it, getting ready for the next six months. This year, the Lord crowns this year. The year means the seasons to come — one year, four seasons, and God is crowning all of it, not just one season. He is crowning all of them. Every day, every week, every month, he crowns them all. So this is the picture God wants us to see: God crowns your year, January 1st to December 31st, with his goodness. You are not moving through 2026 on your own. You are moving through 2026 under the covering of God’s authority, his dignity, honor, his identity, and favor.
The second thing we see here is God appoints seasons. A season is far more than just a period of time on a calendar. A season is a divinely appointed window, a God-ordained moment in which he accomplishes specific purposes in his people, through his people, with his people, and for his people — and in the process, writing his story, which becomes our history. Ecclesiastes 3:1 says, to everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven. We see there are seasons of celebration and seasons of remembrance, seasons of deliverance and seasons of transition, seasons of sowing and seasons of reaping. We are always in a season of God’s design, God’s purpose.
In Revelation 1, Jesus said this to the Apostle John. Revelation 1:8, from the Amplified Classic: I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end, says the Lord God, he who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty, the ruler of all. Jesus was saying here, I am your beginning and end for every season right now. I have been your beginning and end for every season in your past. I will be your beginning and end for every season that is to come.
Every season has an ending. But for every ending, there is a new beginning. And for every new beginning, we go through a season, and here we are again. There is an ending — Jesus is always there for every ending and new beginning and every season of your life, and he is the Almighty. The Almighty can also mean the Omnipotent One — he who holds sway over all things, possessing all power, the being of all might and boundless sufficiency, all unlimited power and potential. That’s who he is. It doesn’t matter what challenges you face — he has the capacity to bring victory in every situation and every season from beginning to end. As Paul tells us in Ephesians 3:20, power that is super abundantly above all that we dare ask or think — infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, hopes, or dreams. For 2026, God has crowned the year for his intended purpose and his plan. If God appoints the season, he also appoints the grace needed for it. He’s invited us to experience these seasons together with him.
Here’s a verse I’m sure we’re all very familiar with, Jeremiah 29:11: For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. This verse is powerful because it speaks directly to the heart of every person’s deepest questions. Does my life have purpose? Does God see me? Is there hope for my future? What we see here is God begins with assurance. Even when we cannot see the path ahead of us, he sees the beginning, the middle, and the end. The verse reminds us that our lives are not random or forgotten. God has a plan for you, a purpose for you, hope for you, a future for you. Each person has value. Each person’s life has meaning and divine purpose. Your life is not an accident — you are part of God’s greater design.
So don’t cling to the old season you’ve just been in out of fear — that is what the enemy will try to convince you to do, where God says let go and let God. Ephesians 2:10 in the Amplified Classic says, for we are God’s own handiwork, his workmanship recreated in Christ Jesus, born anew that we may do those good works which God predestined, planned beforehand, taking paths which he prepared ahead of time that we should walk in them, living the good life which he prearranged and made ready for us to live. Stay open and surrendered to what God is bringing to you in this new season. He has already ordered your steps for the coming year. He has a path prepared for you.
As it says in Jeremiah 29:11, he has plans to prosper you. This word prosper in the Hebrew includes financial success, but the meaning goes much deeper — from the idea of Shalom, which means peace, wholeness, well-being, completeness. God’s desire for you is always full restoration, experiencing life fully to the full till it overflows, as it says in John 10:10.
Galatians 5:22-23 says the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control — against such there is no law. Ephesians 5:9 says the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness, righteousness, and truth. So when it says he’s crowned the year with his goodness, it’s talking about all his goodness, not just a part of it — his goodness, his righteousness, and truth. 1 Thessalonians 1:11-12 says, therefore we also pray always for you that our God would count you worthy of this calling and fulfill all the good pleasure of his goodness and the work of faith with power, that the name of our Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified in you. You are crowned with God’s goodness in every dimension of your life.
And this verse goes on to say he is giving us a hope and a future. Hope is the ability to see beyond today. It is defined as active expectation, confident expectation, and unshakable expectation. It doesn’t matter what you are facing, what the enemy is throwing at you, or the situation you are walking through — you know that God is with you. You are more than a conqueror. In Christ you are an overcomer. Victory is yours. God gives us the strength to believe and know that our story is still unfolding. The current chapter is not the final chapter. The current season is not the final season. God has a future for you in every season of your life throughout eternity — here, now, and beyond.
Jeremiah 29:11 encourages us to trust God every step along the way. We may know our plans, but God knows the plan. His perspective is eternal. Too many times ours is limited to right now, to time, but God is way beyond that — he’s looking throughout eternity. The significance for each of us is: first, you are known by God — he created you, he knows you better than you know yourself. Second, you are not forgotten — you are on God’s mind, he has planned for you and is still planning for you. Third, your life has purpose — there’s a reason for your being. Fourth, God’s heart toward you is good — he’s not mad at you, not judging you, he’s saying I love you, come, spend time with me, step into my presence. Fifth, there is hope ahead — you have a future, God has crowned you with his goodness.
James 1:17 says every good gift, every perfect gift is from above and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning. His word is true, his word is faithful. He has plans for you, hope for you, a future for you. Psalm 65:11 — Lord, you crown the year with your goodness and your paths drip with abundance. God has a plan, a purpose for you, and he wants to work in you, through you, with you, and for you to see it come to pass in 2026. All you have to do is get up every day and say, I’m here Lord, I’m yours, I surrender to you.
Thank you for wrapping this year with your goodness, crowning this year with your goodness, crowning me with all you are — your goodness, your honor, your glory. Thank you for leading me and directing me and ordering my steps to walk in your paths that drip with abundance and overflow and increase with more than enough. Praise God every day, just thank him every day, you’ll be amazed at what you see.
We’ve been seeing God answer prayers — it’s amazing to see how God’s working as we come together and agree together in prayer. One example: a friend’s dog was going blind and had heart issues; we prayed together, and the vets said his eyes are getting better every day, his heart’s fine, he’s going to be great. God cares about the little things — he cares about everything in your life, and he’s excited to walk with you through every season he has planned, to work in you and through you and with you and for you.
God loves you. Don’t give in to the world’s way of thinking or what the enemy is trying to tell you. As Jesus said in John 10:10, the enemy’s purpose is to kill, steal, and destroy — he comes to find some way in your life every day to try to kill, steal, or destroy something. But our Father God is right there saying come on, stand with me, declare it, I need your voice here in the earth, declare it, rebuke him, come against him, stand with him. We are more than conquerors, victorious in Christ Jesus our Lord and Savior, and God has hope and a future for every one of us.
Let’s step out there this week and continue to walk in the goodness of the Lord as he crowns every day with his goodness, as he leads us in his paths that drip with abundance.
Father God, we thank you for your word to us and we surrender ourselves to you. We desire to walk with you, partner with you. Thank you for crowning this year with your goodness, thank you for crowning us with your goodness, thank you for leading us in a path that drips with abundance, that overflows, Father God, with increase and blessing. Thank you Lord, thank you Lord for working in us, through us, with us, and for us, to see your will and purpose come to pass, and we thank you for it, Father, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
Closing thought from Pastor Kanye: have a great week. Often we like to get to the end of something, and when we come to the end of a year that is kind of a line of demarcation. But coming to the end of a year doesn’t mean we come to the end of what God has for us, because we know there’s going to be a winter, a spring, an autumn, and a summer — we know there’s going to be seasons and they’re going to keep coming over and over again, and each season is a new opportunity to witness the goodness of God. Father, thank you for your seasons, thank you that they keep coming around and that they are guaranteed, but each new season is a new opportunity for us to understand you more. We love you Lord, we praise you, and we thank you in Jesus’ name, Amen. Happy Season.
